FOUR RETURNING DRIVERS FOR FINAL TCR UK ROUND

  • RACE WINNER ALISTAIR CAMP TEAMS UP WITH JH RACING
  • MATTHEW WILSON AND CEDRICH BLOCH DOUBLE UP ON SILVERSTONE ENTRIES
  • LUKE SARGEANT CONFIRMS A THIRD AUDI OUTING
  • CALLUM NEWSHAM FIT FOR LAST ROLL OF TITLE DICE

Alistair Camp has been announced as another addition to the expanding TCR UK grid for the championship finale on the Silverstone International layout this coming weekend. Camp, who won at Donington in the series last season, is returning to the TCR fold for his third shot at Touring Car glory with the hope of repeating the result ha achieved at Donington Park last year.

“We have enjoyed a good year in the FN2 in the Milltek Sport Civic Cup this year and I fancied bringing the Hyundai out of the garage for the season finale, to see how we fair against the TCR UK grid,” Camp stated.

The Derby based racer is the highest positioned FN2 competitor in the Honda championship, currently sitting third in the standings, in a series numerically dominated by the EP3 Civic variant.

“JH Racing will be running the car this weekend,” he said. “We’ve talked for a long time about working together and the stars have aligned to return to TCR UK. I’m looking forward to being back on the grid, to see if we can pick up where we left off last year.”

Camp will be placed alongside Darron Lewis and Callum Newsham as the team run three examples of the i30N out of their garage, with Newsham managing to be ready for the meeting after a shunt at Thruxton badly damaged the front end of the car.

Earlier today the Norscott sponsored racer posted to social media to thank those who helped to put the car back together after a difficult few weeks finding the cash and components to put the i30N back on track. It keeps alive a slim hope in the title fight after dropping to third in the standings, 65 points behind championship leader Carl Boardley, with 126 points still available.

Also coming back to the series are Cedric Bloch in his Gen One Audi and Matthew Wilson in his Cupra Leaon Competicion. Wilson, who campaigned that car in 2022 and 2023 in the championship returned at Silverstone earlier this season where he scored a best of fourth on the national layout. Bloch, who made his debut at that race hit technical trouble with his adapted Audi. The paralysed former bike racer finished 13th in his first race before the gremlins set in.

Luke Sargeant will once again be present in a Gen Two Audi. After a late decision to race the last round at Thruxton, which didn’t quite go to plan, Sargeant will be hopeful that the car will be much better suited to the International layout than it was at the Hampshire Speedbowl.
