Un-Limited Motorsport have confirmed that Dexter Patterson will make a return to the British Touring Car Championship to campaign a Cupra Leon with the team for the 2025 season.
The Scottish racer, who tested with the team late last year, will line up alongside the previously confirmed Max Hall as the squad expands to running two cars for the upcoming campaign.
Patterson, who raced alongside former JCW Mini and Porsche Carrera Cup racer Max Bird in the GT4 European Series last year. will return to the Cupra ranks having previously raced a Leon in the series in 2023.

“It feels great to be returning to BTCC, as there’s definitely unfinished business,” Paterson said of his return. “With every season, I gain more experience, which will only help in such a close and competitive championship. My goal now is to quickly adapt the car to suit my driving style and continue pushing it forward to get the most out of it.”
With two BTCC seasons under his belt already at just the age of 21 (Patterson made his debut in an Infiniti Q50 with Laser Tools Racing in 2022) he was coming into his own in the second half of 2023, when he picked a series of decent points scoring places, including a personal best of sixth in torrid conditions at Knockhill.

“My main goal for 2025 is to extract the maximum performance from every event on the calendar, with a particular focus on the Jack Sears Championship,” Patterson said of what will be a fiercely contested category this year. “Of course, a few podiums along the way would be fantastic, too.”
Team Owner Bobby Sharpless is over the moon with the latest addition to the young squad. “We’re incredibly excited to welcome Dexter to Un-Limited Motorsport for the 2025 season,” he stated. “We had the chance to do some testing with him at the end of 2024, and his pace in the Cupra was undeniable. Having raced with the car before, he was immediately comfortable and confident, which is a huge asset for the team. With Dexter and Max as teammates, we’re in a strong position to make a serious push for the Jack Sears and Independent Championships. Dexter’s a former World Karting Champion, and he’s got unfinished business with the Jack Sears Trophy—he’s hungry to prove himself. Together, we’re aiming to climb higher in the standings and deliver some exciting results in 2025.”
With a combined age of 38 years (Patterson being 21, Hall being 17,) 2025 should make for an exciting year for the team. After exceeding external expectations with Daryl DeLeon last season – laying the groundwork for DeLeon to move to West Surrey Racing – Un-Limited will be hoping that the raw speed of the youngsters, married to a personnel roster that is growing in experience, will help cement them as a respected and permanent fixture in the BTCC pitlane.
