George Jaxon will make a return to TCR UK for the 2025 season with an eye on challenging for the Gen 1 Cup.
Racing a Golf GTi backed by Trade Nation, Jaxon will be run by TCR UK veteran Darelle Wilson’s DW Racing outfit as the former Porsche Sprint competitor aims to win the class – which for 2025 comes with a prize of a BTCC test.

Having made his TCR UK debut at the 2022 season finale with a Cupra León at Snetterton, before making two appearances in 2023 at the opening and closing rounds in a León Competición and Audi RS3, Jaxon tried out the Golf at the recent Donington TCR UK test before committing to a full season.
“I’m excited to be back on the TCR UK grid this year, and I extend my thanks to my long-term sponsors Trade Nation and also to Alex Jones from Go-Fix for being a part of making this happen,” he said. “I’m very happy so far with the time that I have spent in the Volkswagen Golf. I know that it is a competitive car, and I managed to get a lot of seat time on the Pre-Season test day. This has given me a lot of confidence going into the new season as I get my campaign underway.”
Jaxon raced alongside Wilson in 2024 with the pair running under the JW Bird banner in Porsche Sprint. Jaxon contested the RS Clubsport Am category, meaning he and Wilson know each other well. DW Racing have a win and podiums in TCR UK with the Vauxhall Astra and are the only team to have competed in every TCR UK season since the championship launched in 2018.

Championship promoter Stewart Lines is happy to see Jaxon return to TCR UK, he stated: “I’ve always said once you’ve had a go in a TCR car, you never forget the experience, so it’s great to see that George is making his return to the championship this year and competing in the Gen 1 Cup. The Gen 1 Cup not only offers competitors the chance to go racing in older TCR cars, it also provides an entry point for drivers and teams new to the TCR concept to get involved and learn more about going touring car racing in a more affordable way.”
