Former Ford Focus Cup and 750 Motor Club racer Gregory Saunders has become the latest driver to join the TCR UK grid for 2025.
Saunders made appearances racing a Gen 1 TCR Cupra Leon in the Club Enduro and Roadsports categories last season – which included a Roadsports second place at Cadwell Park – with with Capture Motorsports.
The former Focus Cup race winner will remain with Capture this year, while stepping up to a Cupra Leon Competicion Gen 2 machine. The team ran Will Beech in the Gen 1 cup in 2024 before putting Steve, then Sam Laidlaw on track with a Hyundai i30.

“I’m really eager to get my TCR UK season underway and excited to be moving up to the championship this year. Having driven the older CUPRA in Endurance events with Capture Motorsport, the chance to race in TCR UK with the Gen2 CUPRA was one I couldn’t pass up,” Saunders stated.
“I’ve done some testing in the older Cupra, however I’ll be getting some seat time in soon with the Gen2 car and I can’t wait to learn more about the car. I love the excitement of TCR UK and I can’t wait to be on the grid, however I know that each weekend will be a new learning experience with the new car.”
The championship already has more confirmed full season drivers with a fortnight to go before the opening race than at the same point last season, which can be partly attributed to a raft of cost reduction moves by the series as it gears up for its eighth year of competition on UK soil.
Championship promoter Stewart Lines said: “It’s always good to see new drivers joining the championship and it’s great to see Greg announce his entry for this year. He’s already experienced the thrill of driving a TCR car and now makes the step up to TCR UK for 2025, thanks to the measures that we have put in place to reduce the cost for this year, the 2025 grid is building and we are excited to announce more entries ahead of the first race weekend of the season at Donington Park.”
