SUBARU RETURNS TO TCR UK WITH YOUNGEST EVER DRIVER O’NEILL-GOING

Jamsport will bring their Subaru WRX STi back to the TCR UK Championship for the upcoming Brands Hatch round of the series.

Team owner Jamie Going will see his son Jenson O’Neill-Going become the toungest driver to enter a TCR UK event with the Gen One machine making its first appearance since 2022.

The cult car is the latest machine that Jenson will get his hands on since making his debut in the Fiesta Junior Championship in 2023. The 16-year-old racer won the 2024 Fiesta Jr title before stepping up to the JCW Mini Challenge for the closing rounds of this season.

“I’m very proud to see Jenson make his debut in TCR UK as he looks ahead to the next step in

his motorsport career,” Jamie said. “Being the youngest driver on the grid will provide a further challenge as he learns about the Subaru during a race weekend, We chose the Subaru for the season finale, remembering its following as a favourite amongst the fans, so it will be great to see it back in action once again. There is no pressure on Jenson, Brands Hatch is all about him gaining experience and being part of the TCR UK Paddock.”

The Scooby raced in TCR UK with Jamsport in 2022. Former BTCC racer Ant Whorton-Eales managed two top 10 finishes across the season.

Championship manager Jack Finlan said: “I’m pleased to welcome Jenson to the grid officially as the youngest driver to ever race in the championship. Following a successful Fiesta Junior campaign where he won the championship, I’m looking forward to seeing how he gets on during such an important race weekend in TCR UK. Having the Subaru back on the grid also adds to the already diverse nature of TCR cars we’ll have in action at Brands Hatch, which is building to be an exciting season finale.”
