Harry Bloor is the first driver to be confirmed as a DTR Honda driver for the 2026 TCR UK season.
Bloor, who made the leap straight from karting to TCR Touring Cars this year, will race the latest generation Civic FL5 for its much vaunted return to the UK.
“I’m really excited to be returning to TCR UK with DTR,” he stated. “Last year was all about learning, coming straight from karts into touring cars, and I feel like I made good progress as the season went on. Getting a P5 at Croft was a real highlight and showed what we’re capable of.”
After starting the season racing a Hyundai i30 N with Power Maxed Racing, in the TCR UK young driver programme, Bloor grabbed a sixth place finish on his debut weekend at Donington before going one place better at Croft. After the Power Maxed fire left the i30 destroyed he remained in the championship, stepping up to a Cupra Leon Competicion.
DTR, who will make their TCR UK debut in April at Brands Hatch will receive support from JAS, the official design and manufacturing partner of the Japanese company in Touring Car racing for over 25 years.
“Having the support of JAS Motorsport is fantastic and gives us real confidence in the programme,” Bloor added. “With a new car and a proper testing plan in place, I’m looking forward to building on what we started and continuing to move forward.”
DTR Team Principal Darryl Taplin said: “We’re really happy to have Harry on board for the upcoming TCR UK season. He showed a lot of promise during his rookie year and impressed with how quickly he adapted to different TCR cars. This programme is all about development and progression, and we’re excited about the future and looking forward to working closely with Harry as he continues to grow as a driver.”
Taplin was involved during the last FL5 venture into TCR UK back in 2023 with Chris Smiley and Restart Racing. Smiley since admitted that the under performance that year was partly caused by his desire to return to the BTCC, and that he came nowhere near the potential that the FL5 could deliver on British tracks. DTR will run other drivers alongside Bloor.
Jack Finlan, TCR UK Championship manager added:“It’s great to see Harry back in TCR UK and stepping into a new programme with JAS Motorsport. Coming from karting and already gaining experience across different TCR machinery, this is an exciting opportunity for him to continue his development. We’re really looking forward to seeing how everything comes together for Harry as the season progresses.”
