NAPA RACING UNVEILS 2026 BTCC LINEUP: LEWIS SELBY JOINS THE TEAM

The much anticipated announcement from NAPA Racing for the reveal of their 2026 BTCC driving lineup has landed, with the news that JCW Mini racer Lewis Selby will join Ash Sutton, Dan Cammish and Sam Osbourne in competition this term.

Former JCW Directors Cup champion Selby who will have an eye on competing for the Jack Sears Trophy to add to his JCW honours as he makes his Touring Car debut, he said in the official release: “It’s a dream come true, to race in the British Touring Car Championship with the brand I’ve dedicated so much time to will be a very proud moment. I never really considered the BTCC as an option, but due to various events, I was asked and immediately said yes! I can’t thank Pete Osborne and Steve Richardson enough, and I look forward to doing the best job I can for them, the team, and all my many colleagues at NAPA Auto Parts. I can’t wait to get started!”

Alongside Selby, Sam Osbourne returns for a sixth consecutive season with Alliance/Motorbase on the back of his best BTCC season which included a first overall win after a tense battle with Josh Cook at Silverstone in September. “I’m really eager to get back on track,” he said. “Getting that first win last year was such a great feeling, now I want to make that trip to the podium more. I’ve seen the cars as they’ve been taking shape, and they look fantastic. Full credit to the guys back at base for all their hard work, and hopefully we can repay that work with another good season.”

Alliance/NAPA ended last season with the Team’s title, and narrowly missed out on the Manufacturer’s crown, but there was a clear and obvious gap between their Ford Focus and the Hyundai i30N campaigned by champion Tom Ingram. Sutton didn’t mince his words at various points of the 2025 campaign when talking about the aerodynamic deficiency his car had in comparison to that of the i30, but in the off-season he stated that the team will leave no stone unturned in their attempt to overthrow the current title holders.

“It goes without saying that the team and I are hungrier than ever to win that fifth title,” Sutton stated. “I’ve been in contention in each of the past two seasons, but I feel that now is the time to get back on top and rewrite the BTCC history books. Everyone at NAPA Racing UK has been working tirelessly over the off-season. I feel like I’m in a good place too, so all the ingredients are there for us to go and achieve the things that we’re targeting. I can’t wait to get back out on-track.”

Dan Cammish, who along with Sutton was confirmed as having a contract extension with Alliance for 2026 back in February last year will be keen to build on the eight wins he’s achieved with the team over the last four years, and is prepping for a serious tilt at the title, he said: “I’m really looking forward to the new season. There’s a lot of change, we have new rules as well as new team and driver pairings to contend with, all of which means there are plenty of opportunities. It promises to be an exciting season, and the aim is to retain the Teams’ title, take back the Manufacturers’ title and on a personal level, I’ll be giving it my all to clinch that elusive first Drivers’ Championship.”
