Un-Limited Motorsport have announced that they will not compete in the BTCC during the 2026 season via a social media statement made this morning by car owner Matt Edwards.
The squad have been the subject of online rumours since a second compulsory strike-off was placed through a First Gazette at Companies House on February 3rd, which was rescinded three weeks later.
The team was holding two TOCA licenses for 2026 with the intention of entering a pair of Cupra Leon machines carried over from last season.
Edwards posted to social media: “This difficult decision follows the withdrawal of our title sponsorship programme, driven by the current economic climate. Despite exploring a number of alternative options to remain on the grid, it has unfortunately not been possible to secure the level of support required to compete at the standard the team expects.”
Un-Limited entered the championship for the 2024 season with a sole car for Daryl DeLeon and punched well above their weight. For 2025 they started the year with three cars for Dexter Patterson, Max Hall and Nic Hamilton, with Hall leaving at the halfway point of the season. Sources within the Hall camp stated that the team didn’t deliver what was agreed upon, before they moved to TCR UK.
Hamstrung by the ex-Team HARD cars meant that Un-Limited were limited in competitive terms. Patterson claimed a single top 10 finish last year, while DeLeon claimed their best finish of seventh at the final Brands Hatch round in 2024.
Edwards added: “While we are disappointed not to be taking part this season, the team remains committed to its long-term future and will continue working behind the scenes to evaluate opportunities moving forward.”
