Power Maxed Racing (PMR) has finalised its driver line-up for the 2026 British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), confirming that Mikey Doble and Aiden Moffat will compete alongside Dexter Patterson. The announcement confirms the three-car entry for the team, featuring a mix of long-term continuity and a new partnership that has been discussed for over a decade.
For Doble, the 2026 season marks his fourth consecutive year with the PMR squad. The extension follows a 2025 campaign that was the most difficult in the team’s history, headlined by a workshop fire that caused significant damage to their operations. Despite these setbacks, Doble secured his first outright race win last season and remained a contender for Independent honours.
Moving into one of the team’s new Audi challengers, Doble credited the team’s response to last year’s challenges as a primary reason for his return.
“Last season showed the character of this team more than anything else. What happened off track would have broken most operations, but PMR responded with grit and determination. Keeping me in the fight for Independent honours, that meant a lot to me. Four years together now isn’t just continuity, it’s commitment. We know each other, and we know what we’re capable of. I’m more motivated than ever to reward that belief with the results we all know we can achieve.”
Moffat joins the team for 2026, bringing his long-standing relationship with LKQ Euro Car Parts to the PMR fold. Moffat’s history with Team Principal Adam Weaver dates back to 2013, when Weaver supported his debut as the youngest driver in the championship’s history.
While Moffat is already a multiple race winner, the team believes his best performances are still ahead of him. The move represents a “full circle” moment for both the driver and the team principal, who have shared a long-term goal of seeing Moffat in a PMR seat.
“It’s about time? We’ve been talking about this longer than a Scottish winter! Honestly though,”Moffat stated, “ I’m so happy we could finally make it happen. Adam backed me when I was just a young lad starting out, so to come full circle and get in a PMR car now, it just feels right. Combining this with LKQ Euro Car Parts, who I have also had a long relationship with, is something very special. I haven’t been this excited since my BTCC debut.”
With the three-car line-up of Patterson, Doble, and Moffat now confirmed, PMR is focusing on the benefits of stability and familiar relationships. Weaver noted that Doble’s professionalism was critical during the team’s rebuilding phase in 2025, and that the foundation built over their four years together provides a clear platform for the upcoming season.
On the addition of Moffat, Weaver added: “We’ve known Aiden and his family for a long time. Backing his debut all those years ago and now bringing him into a Power Maxed Racing car feels like things have come full circle. He’s achieved a lot already, but we genuinely believe the best is still to come.”
