BACK ON THE BEAT: CONSTABLE CONFIRMED FOR TCR UK RETURN

TCR UK race winner Jac Constable has confirmed at he will make a comeback for the opening round of the 2026 season this weekend at Brands Hatch.

Constable will compete in a JH Racing run Audi RS3 LMS machine similar to the car he raced to victory in his last TCR UK outing, also on the Indy layout at the Kent circuit in the final round of the 2023 season.

“I’m really excited to be back in TCR UK this year,” Constable stated in the official release. “I’ve been away for a couple of seasons and its clear that the championship has taken a step forward since I was last involved, which is great to see. I’m looking forward to getting back behind the wheel of the Audi and showing what I can do on track at Brands Hatch, where I took my last win in TCR UK.”

Constable’s previous tenure in TCR UK from 2021 to 2023 saw him run at the front on a regular basis. The former Power Maxed Racing BTCC development driver missed a chance to debut at Croft in 2020 in their BTCC Astra due to illness, but moved with the team to TCR UK for 2021 where, in a Cupra Leon he took wins at Oulton Park and Donington Park. A second term with the same setup would see another pair of wins.

2023 would see Constable ditch the Gen One Cupra, which had become uncompetitive, and switch to the second generation Audi, running with RBR. Again a pair of victories were picked up – the first at Croft with Audi RS3 guru Detlef Schmidt famously dancing in the pitlane in celebration, and again in that Brands season closer.

“Working with James (Hone) and the team at JH Racing has been a new experience for me and we’ve already hit the ground running as we work to prepare the Audi for the opening weekend of the year. I’m aiming to get three solid race finishes under my belt as well as showing what I can do in a competitive car.”

Constable has already had seat time in this newer Audi alongside teammates Russell Joyce (Audi RS3) and Callum Newsham (Hyundai Elantra) at Brands Hatch, and is working towards building a portfolio to allow a full campaign.

“It’s great to have Jac back in TCR UK after two seasons away. Already well known for his tenacity and race-winning pedigree, Jac is also one of the hardest-working drivers on the grid, putting in every effort possible to make sure that he is competitive as well as providing the best product on the grid for his sponsors,” Championship Manager Jack Finlan said.

“Aligning himself with JH Racing also provides Jac with the best opportunity to make a big
statement on his return to the championship. James Hone and his team know how to get the
best out of their cars. This offers Jac a great chance to hit the ground running in what is sure to
be the most exciting opening weekend of a TCR UK season yet.”

The return of Constable is an addition to some of the ‘name’ drivers who have already confirmed campaigns for 2026. Double champion Lewis Kent will race a Lynk & Co 03 having last raced in TCR UK also in 2023. Another double title winner, Carl Boardley, also returns after a year out of racing, this time competing in a Honda Civic FL5. Race winner in TCR UK, Europe, Asia and China Max Hart is on the grid for the first time since 2022. The Macau winner will also be behind the wheel of a Civic FL5 as he runs a parallel UK and Europe assault.
