JENSON MASON TO MAKE TCR UK DEBUT WITH VANNIN MOTORSPORT

Jenson Mason will make his TCR UK debut this coming weekend at Brands Hatch with Vannin Motorsport in an Audi RS3 LMS.

The teenage former Wera Academy Alliance Mini racer will line up alongside Barry-John McHenry in the team as he steps up to Tin Top racing.

Graduating from karts to Fiesta Juniors, Mason took race wins, gaining enough momentum to move to Alliance for 2025, where he took a win at Thruxton in the Mini Challenge Trophy.

“I can’t wait to be driving the Vannin Motorsport Audi RS3 at Brands this weekend and being part of the TCR UK Touring Car Championship,” Mason stated. “The deal was only signed last Friday, so I haven’t even sat in the car yet. I’m properly excited but also feeling the nerves ahead of Friday’s test. The car looks insane, and Vannin are a fantastic team with a great track record, so I’m really looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together.”

“It has been my dream to step up to Touring Car level at some point in my career, but I didn’t think that opportunity would come around at just 17 years of age. I feel very lucky and I am so grateful to everyone who’s helped me get to this point. At the moment, I’m only confirmed for the first round, due to budget, but we’re working hard to find new partners and sponsors for the rest of the season.”

Mason joins Harry Bloor, Max Hall and Jenson O’Neill-Going with the teenage ranks taking up a quarter of the field.

Championship Manager Jack Finlan commented: “I’m very happy to see Jenson announce his debut this year as one of the new wave of young drivers who are achieving their goal of becoming a touring car driver as part of the TCR UK grid. He’s made rapid progress during his young motorsport career and has shown amazing talent in tin top racing so far.”

“Joining an established team in Vannin Motorsport, who have plenty of experience with the successful Audi Gen 2 car, means that Jenson will be working with a competitive squad who know how to extract the best from their cars and provide him with a great opportunity to show well on his debut at Brands Hatch.”
